U-8047

 U-8047 is a Replica Submarine, which is moored at Clarence Dock (Leeds) UK. The name U-8047 was the brainchild of Laurel Howarth, secretary of U-8047 TRUST and represents a car number plate distorted version of U-boat. The 45 foot narrowboat, skipered by Capt.Richard Williams has been converted, both inside and out, in to a Submarine Museum, which opens its doors to teach historical education to children.The U-8047 Replica Submarine Museum opens daily throughout the year; where visitors can come aboard and walk through the boat. The tour starts with the captain’s cabin, with charts, maps and WWII memorabilia, a working galley & heads, a control room, with sonar, radar, periscope, helm position and radio area and a forward torpedo room, with crew bunks, torpedo’s, anchor locker and Brigg, which contains a chained prisoner
